1.A. Yes. On the older models the Water Pump is driven by the timing belt. The labor on this type of repair on average is abut 3-4 hours.
2.A. This is a very serious problem or an easy fix. The battery is the most likely problem. However this could be an electrical short in the system which can be very dangerous and expensive.
3.A. The MPG will start to decline this will usually be followed by a rough idle and hesitant starting.
4.A. Fuel Pumps are often the blame for vehicle shutdown. However the Ignition Module Coil Pack may be the culprit.
5.A. Belts will make noise if they start to slack, but the Water Pump is starting to go out it will make a similar sound.
6.A. Depending on what you want repaired and the actual needs of the vehicle may differ. Sometimes one problem can mask another.
7.A. Sometimes the amount of miles you travel, or how you drive may be a factor. However, brakes should last on average approx. 20,000 miles, for the average person this means 8-12 months. (Note) Have the mechanic check your Calipers if this problem persists.
8.A. Extended warranties pick up where the dealership warranty ends. Be of careful of the warranty you buy, Silver, Gold or Platinum packages are available. The Platinum has the best coverage. In addition watch out for hidden clauses in the contract before you buy.
9.A. Shops may vary in the labor dept. But depending on the vehicle, you can expect $65.00 -$150.00 per hour.
10.A.Yes, & No! Yes you can provide the parts but they cannot be warrantied by the company installing them. In the event the part is defective or it is the wrong part, you may find yourself paying for double the initial cost.
